As part of the Maldivian government's ongoing efforts to decentralize social protection services, an integrated office for Aasandha and the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) was officially inaugurated in Addu City. Starting today, citizens can access the full range of services provided by both Aasandha and NSPA directly through this new establishment.
The primary objective of opening this regional office is to bring essential social services closer to the people, ensuring greater accessibility and convenience. This initiative is expected to significantly ease the process for residents of the southern atolls to obtain healthcare and welfare assistance, eliminating the previous hurdles faced in accessing these services.
The company aims to ensure that all services currently offered by Aasandha are fully operational and available to the region's residents through this office by the end of this year. This development is a key component of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's administration's robust policy to decentralize government services and deliver them effectively at the community level.
